Choose a Reputable Philippine Real Estate Agent

When buying or selling a home in the Philippines, your choice of Real Estate Agent is important to your success in investing Philippines properties! You want to select an Agent who will have your best interest at heart.

Your first important consideration will be to find an Agent that is well-experienced in the area where you will buy or sell. Your next important consideration will be to find an Agent that will communicate with you freely and openly. You will want to establish trust, straight off.

Set the ground work by asking your Agent how often you can expect to receive updates. Next, establish how you will receive them. Will it be by phone, email, fax or will you have in-person visits? Be sure to express your need for good communication at the very start and tell your Agent how important this will be to you. Agents are extremely busy and keep a very tight ship so remind them if you feel at all overlooked during the buying or selling process.

Be certain who you will be working with. Many busy Agents have assistants. A meeting can be arranged in advance and when you arrive you can find it is the assistant that meets with you instead of your Agent. If, at any time, you object to working with someone other than your Agent, tell them this.

Establish that your Agent will attend to your buying or selling needs right on through to closing. Some Agents have left for vacation right in the middle of a deal and not told their clients. They simply did not want to lose a listing. This can prove to be most frustrating and inconvenient to a buyer or seller who must wait around for an Agent to return from a business trip or vacation.

Real Estate Agents have what is called a "fiduciary duty" to their client. A client can expect an Agent’s undivided attention to their buying and selling needs from the beginning and until the deal closes. Anything less than this is irresponsible.
